Language Function: Learners should be able to communicate effectively in common everyday situations in which Greek is used through relatively familiar, predictable, and recurring patterns of language. In these exchanges, they should be capable of establishing and maintaining both social and work-related relationships. In less direct forms of communication, they are expected to understand the overall meaning as well as selected details in spoken or written material.

Students should also understand the main social conventions that influence communication.
